Various Other Areas of Experience

College/Youth

My wife and I have 2 ½ years of heavy youth involvement with the Columbus Ave. youth, a mixed age and ethnicity group between the ages of 9 and 18. When we arrived there were only limited youth actives in place, mainly centered on LTC. We met 1 to 2 times a month for group activities/devotionals many times in our home. We had good participation when we went to youth rallies as well. This was in addition to the standing arrangement at several local establishments most Wednesday nights. I transported most of the kids on these outings.

In addition to our regular activities the first part of the year was dedicated to LTC training for the boys in the areas of leadership for worship along with various group service projects. Columbus Avenue took Gold at LTC in Puppets and Skit division for 2011. While I did not write these productions, many hours were spent rehearsing and preparing the kids for this event.

Here are YouTube links if you would like to see some of these boys progress:

I am a family man, I like nothing better than to get out and get away to spend time with my family. I am an outdoors enthusiast.

I enjoy biking, hiking and camping. I love landscaping and landscape maintenance.

I enjoy listening to Christian Contemporary music. I love to sing and am always up for learning new songs. However I am very familiar with the older songs and enjoy singing them as well.

I really enjoy barbecuing and smoking meat.

I also enjoy tinkering with miniature trains with my son and more recently teaching him to ride his bike

Finances permitting, I would like to continue my education more.
